and then you die

I got a call from my parents tonight. they got a call from my aunt ( my fathers brothers wife) to ask if they could check on her father who lives near my parents. They couldn’t get into the house so my aunt said break a window and go in. They found him in a pool of blood. the blood started at a toilet and led to him in the kitchen. Officials said it was a gastro-intestinal bleed out or something like that - basically not fowl play. He was old and it was probably just his time. I met the guy a few times, so i’m not terrible upset over this. I feel more for my parents who had to walk into a horrific death scene and the immediate family. I was just out trying to celebrate my exam pass when I found out. My point here is you never know when times up, so enjoy it and enjoy the people around you.

Sorry for your loss. My 11 year old cousin(at the time) found my Great-Grandfather dead, and it was pretty traumatic for him at the time. Finding someone who has passed sucks.

yea i could only imagine what its liek to do that. its even worse if your 11. at least my parents understand the concept of death. thats not something easy for an 11 y/o. One of my cousins recently went hunting with his father and his father dropped dead on the trail. it was a 2 hr hike for him to go find help.

That’s awful. In my Mom’s class when she was in HS, a kid dropped dead during dodge ball due to heart failure. It can happen any time.

Apparently he had a condition where it was going to happen at any time, so no one actually triggered it by hitting him with a ball.
